What are clear aligners and what kind of material are they made from?
Clear aligners are transparent trays that help to align your teeth in a more discreet way. With every aligner, different pressure is applied to achieve the desired teeth movements. The aligners are made from medical-grade thermoplastic material, designed specifically for the orthodontic industry. This material is free of heavy elements, as well as BPA, mercury, latex and phthalates, making it a completely safe option. As opposed to the polyester (PETG) or acrylic resins more commonly used by other suppliers, this is a monolayer material made from a patented, medical-grade polyurethane resin. The reason for this choice of material is to improve the biophysical properties, facilitating dental movements and increasing the transparency of the aligners.
