What are clear aligners, and what kind of material are they made from?

Clear aligners are transparent trays that help to align your teeth more discreetly. With every aligner, a different pressure is applied to achieve the desired tooth movements.

The aligners are made from medical-grade thermoplastic material, designed specifically for the orthodontic industry. This material is free of heavy elements, as well as BPA, mercury, latex and phthalates, making it a completely safe option.

As opposed to the polyester (PETG) or acrylic resins more commonly used by other suppliers, this is a monolayer material made from a patented, medical-grade polyurethane resin. The reason for this choice of material is to improve the biophysical properties, facilitating dental movements and increasing the transparency of the aligners.

The material used to make your aligners at Impress is recyclable. You can read more about how it works here.
